Patient Review

  • Patient's Age: 30
  • Patient's Gender: male

Symptoms

  • Right Knee pain

Case Presentation

Knee pain is a frequent complaint among adults. Usually, it is caused by ordinary wear and tears from everyday activities such as walking, standing, bending, and lifting. A sudden injury, an overuse injury, or an underlying condition like arthritis can all cause knee pain. Treatment will differ based on the underlying cause.

Mr. Naik visited Dr. Sandeep Singh, who is considered the best orthopedist in Bhubaneswar by his patients. The patient complained of severe right knee pain. Dr. Sandeep Singh performed an X-ray scan and diagnosed the condition as avulsion of the posterior cruciate ligament.

The PCL - posterior cruciate ligament runs through the back of the knee. Ligaments are tough tissue bands that connect bones. The PCL joins your thigh bone (femur) to your shin bone, analogous to the anterior cruciate ligament (ACL). The PCL can be torn, despite being larger and stronger than the ACL.

Based on the condition, the doctor suggested CC screw arthroscopy for complete relief. Mr. Naik decided to go forward with the CC screw arthroscopy, and after a few weeks of surgery, he found total comfort from his knee problems. He was now much more comfortable in doing routine activities and moving around.
